What’s the contribution of faith communities to our region’s economy?        

Yorkshire and Humber Faiths Forum are currently undertaking an Economic Impact Assessment. This will provide evidence of the substantial contribution that faith makes to our region’s communities and to regenerating local economies. To make this really effective, we need as much participation as possible - by MONDAY 15 DECEMBER 2008.

This new publication introduces a set of strategic outcome indicators for Yorkshire and Humber. Covering social, economic and environmental, the document provides an evidence base for the region to apply in the formulation of strategies and in helping to improve decision making.

Labour Market Statistics - November 2008       

Labour Force Survey data for Yorkshire and The Humber indicate that the trend in the employment rate is decreasing, but the rate in the latest period is not significantly different from a year ago. The trend in the unemployment rate is increasing, and the latest rate is significantly higher than a year ago.

Monthly Policy Briefing - October 2008       

Innovation in the north of England is the first issue examined in this month’s briefing, with the publication of two reports outlining key issues in relation to this area of policy. Also included under sustainable and competitive business are features on the impact of the economic crisis and european policy responses to the economic crisis. Other areas covered this month are: skills, with a focus on the new simplification of skills document published by UKCES; jobs, which includes information on the introduction of the employment and support allowance; cities, towns and rural communities; partnership structures; and social inclusion.
